Types of UAE Visa
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) offers several types of visas for individuals visiting the country for various purposes, such as tourism, work, study, or residency. Here are some of the most common types of UAE visas and how to apply for them:
Tourist Visa: This type of visa is for individuals who are visiting the UAE for leisure or tourism purposes. Tourist visas are usually valid for 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days. To apply for a tourist visa, you can choose from the e-Visa available provided in the table below and apply for the evisa as per your travel plans.
Transit Visa: This type of visa is for individuals who are transiting through the UAE to another destination. Transit visas are usually valid for 96 hours (four days) and can be extended for an additional 96 hours.
Visit Visa: This type of visa is for individuals who are visiting family or friends in the UAE. Visit visas are usually valid for 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days.
Work Visa: This type of visa is for individuals who have a job offer in the UAE. The work visa is issued by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) and is valid for two years. To apply for a work visa, the employer in the UAE must apply on behalf of the employee.
Student Visa: This type of visa is for individuals who are studying in the UAE. The student visa is issued by the UAE Ministry of Education and is valid for the duration of the course of study. To apply for a student visa, the educational institution in the UAE must apply on behalf of the student.

- A valid passport with at least six months validity
- A passport-sized photograph
- Proof of travel itinerary (for tourist and transit visas)
- Proof of financial support
- Other supporting documents depending on the type of visa.
